Planning & Development

The Director of Planning & Development interprets the department’s codes, regulations, plans, policies, and functions for elected and appointed boards, citizens, business community and public.  The Director of Planning & Development is responsible for overseeing the land-use zoning, land development, and building permit processes for the City to ensure an effective and efficient manner for community growth.  The Planning & Development department also provides the appropriate protection of the City of Montgomery’s natural resources and the preservation of the community’s unique character.
