Sealed bids in duplicate addressed to the City of Montgomery will be received at the City of Montgomery, in the office of the City Secretary, 101 Old Plantersville Road, Montgomery, Texas 77316 until 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 17, 2019, and then publicly opened and read for furnishing all plant, labor, material, and equipment; and performing all work required for the construction of: FEMA – Atkins Creek Water, Sanitary Sewer and Storm Sewer Repairs for the City of Montgomery.

 

The work includes but is not limited to construction of two aerial crossings for a waterline and sanitary sewer line, encased in sixteen-inch (16”) steel casing supported by four (4) drilled concrete piers, replacement and repairs to a storm sewer safety end treatment, regrading of an existing channel and installation of slope paving within the City’s utility easements.

 

The project is located at the intersection of FM 1097 and Atkins Creek in Montgomery County, Key Map No. 123 Q.

 

For construction contracts over $50,000 but less than $250,000, the bidder shall submit a certified or cashier's check on a responsible bank in the State equal to two percent (2%) of the maximum total bid amount. For construction contracts over $250,000, the bidder shall submit either a 2% certified or cashier's check or a five percent (5%) bid bond of the maximum total bid amount. Make the cashier's check or bid bonds payable to the Owner.

Failure to do so will result in the City’s inability to execute the contract. There will be a pre-bid conference in the offices of Jones & Carter, Inc. 1575 Sawdust Road, Suite 400, The Woodlands, Texas 77380 at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 8, 2019. Attendance is not mandatory.

 

Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual identity, gender identity, or national origin.

 

All contractors/subcontractors that are debarred, suspended or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation on federal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in part or in full under this project.

 

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any or all irregularities.  No bid may be withdrawn until the expiration of 90 days from the date bids are open.
