Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary

The Wolf Sanctuary is a non-profit 501(c)3 facility that rescues and protects wolves. They are a beautiful animal and you can help by donating to keep them safe. Every donation, no matter the size, helps tremendously.

Some interesting facts about wolves include the fact that they are the largest members of the dog family.

Wolves are legendary because of their spine-tingling howl, which they use to 

communicate. They have remarkable powers of endurance and have a highly organized 

social structure enabling them to enjoy maximum cooperation when hunting and 

defending their territory.

Sam Houston National Forest

Sam Houston National Forest

The Sam Houston National Forest, one of four National Forests in Texas, is located 50 miles north of Houston. The forest contains 163, 037 acres between Huntsville, Conroe, Cleveland and Richards, Texas. With land in Montgomery, Walker, and San Jacinto counties, the Sam Houston National Forest is intermingled with privately owned timber lands and small farms.

The district ranger's office is located three miles west of New Waverly on FM 1375.
